Let me just start off by saying, I HATE BUILDING HOUSES!! I don't want to do this again for a very long time. Now I know that means I will have to stay in Heber for a long time, which I am not thrilled about, but I also don't want to move again! I know it's a double edge sword :(
So here is what put me in this funk~ they were doing the exterior of the house (FINALLY), you know the part that make a house look like a home instead of a shed. I must say this has been one of the most frustrating parts of this whole house building process. Only because I had the perfect rock picked out, only to find it had been discontinued (can you ever really find another perfect rock??.... I say NO) but, fear not we tried and came up with something pretty good, only it had to be special ordered.
Well today they came to put up that special ordered we can make it “the perfect “rock on and ...... you guessed it, it was the WRONG ROCK!! (Right style, just wrong color)Apparently you could tell by the look on my face when I pulled up, that it wasn't right. Because even though there was a slight language barrier the boys putting it on could tell something wasn't right. (And NO I didn't swear)

This is how it was when I left it, and I am not sure what we are going to do about it….
Now let me just say the rock itself isn’t bad. It just isn’t what we had picked out.( more grey not tan) And we DO NOT have time to re-order the rock. Trav likes it and thinks we can get it to work; it is just me that hates changing in midstream, when I already had visions of “the perfect” rock!

Oh the drama! Hopefully when it is completed it will all be worth it!
I think it looks great BUT if you don't think you can learn to love it then make them fix it on their own time.
What a pain! Can't wait to see it all done.
I've never had to go through that, but I'm sure it is frustrating! Hopefully you can work it out.
It looks BEAUTIFUL to me!!! But I can understand being grumpy when you have your mind set on something and it doesn't turn out the way you hoped for it to.
I really like it, too. However, I totally get the "can't change your mind right in the middle" kind of thing. It's like when you're all geared up to eat at Hogi Yogi, and then the husband brings home Arby's. Arby's is still good, but you were ready for Hogi Yogi. It takes a while to adjust. Good luck!
I have to share. When my brick was delivered I realized I did NOT like the color at it combined with the other parts of my home. I talked to Dan about getting another color. The cost and the pressure of the time commitment caused me to relent and stick with what was delivered. I still look at my house and mourn the color of the brick. It would have been worth the extra time it would have taken to get the color I wanted - what is a few weeks when you look back 5-10 years later??
PS - But changing would be a big pain, so I say you really have to dislike it to make the change.
