Good Day!

Yesterday was a GOOD house and friend day! We got the kids bedrooms and the downstair bathroom painted, the oustside lights in, and some other little odds and ends finished up. All with the help of our amazing friends the Laforett's.

Then we got to have a sleepover.... Why is it that you wake up feeling like you have been hit by a bus after a sleep over? I mean, come on I slept in my own bed.... Oh~ wait the kids didn't!

It was still fun, we love having them over and don't know what we would do without them!!

So, here is to hoping we have a good house week this week!

We are running out of time not to :)

Today was NOT a good house day!

Let me just start off by saying, I HATE BUILDING HOUSES!! I don't want to do this again for a very long time. Now I know that means I will have to stay in Heber for a long time, which I am not thrilled about, but I also don't want to move again! I know it's a double edge sword :(

So here is what put me in this funk~ they were doing the exterior of the house (FINALLY), you know the part that make a house look like a home instead of a shed. I must say this has been one of the most frustrating parts of this whole house building process. Only because I had the perfect rock picked out, only to find it had been discontinued (can you ever really find another perfect rock??.... I say NO) but, fear not we tried and came up with something pretty good, only it had to be special ordered.

Well today they came to put up that special ordered we can make it “the perfect “rock on and ...... you guessed it, it was the WRONG ROCK!! (Right style, just wrong color)Apparently you could tell by the look on my face when I pulled up, that it wasn't right. Because even though there was a slight language barrier the boys putting it on could tell something wasn't right. (And NO I didn't swear)

This is how it was when I left it, and I am not sure what we are going to do about it….

Now let me just say the rock itself isn’t bad. It just isn’t what we had picked out.( more grey not tan) And we DO NOT have time to re-order the rock. Trav likes it and thinks we can get it to work; it is just me that hates changing in midstream, when I already had visions of “the perfect” rock!

NO cavities or hair....

Today was Tyler’s 6 month dental checkup. And like always Tyler was happy to go ... it means her VERY own new tooth brush and paste, floss, and her favorite... mouthwash !(I know she is a crazy kid) But this time we got a little more then we bargained for... (I so wish I had pictures, but I don't so you will just have to use your imaginations)
It is Tyler's turn to go back to the hygienist to get her teeth cleaned, and the chair they have is VERY tall so they have the kids scoot clear up to the top. On the headrest there are these adjustable things on the side so they can move it forwards or back depending on their needs. Tyler is ALWAYS the "perfect" patient, she love having her teeth cleaned! (I know weird) So there is never any trouble.
But, after they get finished the lady goes to put the chair up so we can wait for the dentist to come in, and while she is putting the chair up (not paying attention) Tyler starts saying ouch( not to loud at first)but the higher the chair goes the louder she gets ... then she starts to cry....
I got off my chair to find out what was wrong (because Tyler DOESN'T cry unless she has a VERY good reason) and there it was .... her hair had gotten wrapped around the adjusting thingies on the headrest and as the chair got straighter her hair got tighter, so tight we had to lay her back down just to get it loose enough to try to get it undone. (Poor baby)
Needless to say Tyler has No cavities and no hair :) No really though, it took a nice size chunk out and left her with a pretty good headache for the rest of the day.
But don't worry, the dentist let her pick 2 prizes out of the box :)
As we were driving home she informed me; next time she goes she is wearing her hair in a bun!!!!

Skiing with my little miss.....

So, Tyler had a field trip today to Soldier Hollow to go skiing. (Cross country) It was a BLAST!!! Even though there was at least 100 3rd graders; (most of them this being there first time skiing)all on the same trail, it ended up that my group of 4 and another little group had the trail to ourselves most of the time. All because we stayed back to learn how to get up once we fell down.... dang good info I tell ya! This is Tyler trying to get up after her first fall :)
She fell again trying not to hit into a class mate, so we decided to sit and "chill" while that group you can see in the edge of the picture got further down the trail :)

But she was OFF as soon as the coast
was clear... you can't keep this girl down for long!
She was going pretty fast (the picture doesn't do her justice) and I was trying not to have a heart attack!

For her first time she did amazing! I was so proud of her and all the kids in my group.
They were all well behaved little troopers ... I think we did between 3 and 5 miles!

This is the ONLY picture we got of the 2 of us ... I guess I shouldn't have trusted 8 year olds to do my photography :)

It was the perfect day out with my little miss!
I am so thankful that I am able to enjoy moments like these with my kids!
