Have you ever been on one of those rides that spin and whip you around so wildly that when you get off you are not sure which way is up or down?
Well that is how these last few weeks have felt…Wildly out of control!
A few weeks ago Trav came home to tell me that his company that he has been working for for the past 5+ years (and the reason we moved to Heber) was laying off ALL employees. PERFECT...and then to top off our challenging day, that night Grandma fell off the toilet and cut her arm all up and hurt her foot pretty bad.
After I finally got grandma back to bed I laid there thinking… and realized that I have all I will ever need. My family is my EVERYTHING. They are what bring joy and happiness to my life, not money, things, or hobbies. I suddenly felt the weight of this crazy world lifted off my shoulders. As I laid there in the dark next to my eternal companion, the love of my life, I knew at that very moment we can and will get through this together and come out of it stronger than before.
I have had lots of people say “well aren’t you just so mad that you moved to Heber and now this happened?” I am surprisingly NOT mad… I know what we went through when we made the decision to move to Heber. I know all the prayers, tears and faith that went into it. It’s not like we just moved up here on a whim. The lord knew where we needed to be. While it has NOT been easy I KNOW we have been blessed.
Jeffrey R. Holland said, "When suffering, we may in fact be nearer to God than we've ever been in our entire lives. That knowledge can turn every such situation into a would-be temple. Regarding our earthly journey, the Lord has promised, 'I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up' (D&C 84:88). That is an everlasting declaration of God's love and care for us, including--and perhaps especially--in times of trouble."
I have a truly amazing husband who is faithful, strong, honest, and one of the hardest working people I know. He honors his priesthood and treasures his role as a father and a husband. And I know the lord is aware of this as well.
We are grateful for all the prayers, well wishes and all of the opportunities that have come our way.
LOVE YOU ALL!!!

He-llo inspiring!!!!!!

You will be blessed-- not just for "enduring" this trial, but for passing the true test by enduring well. I love you sweet T cake!

p.s. I have a wagon-load of those little cupcake bites leftover and I think they may be just the thing to chase away any blues!
